2003 – North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Organizations Innovative Award: For outstanding work as a non-profit organization in North Dakota. |

2003 – Martin Luther King Human Relations Award: For creating opportunities for individuals and families to increase strengths and potential. Two of CHARISM’s youth performed at the awards ceremonies. |

2005 – “CustomGuide” Feature Charity: A Twin Cities-based educational software company, impressed with CHARISM’s work in its Job Skills & Computer Training Program, hand selected CHARISM as its feature story in their corporate newsletter. |

2005 – FirstLink Agency Spotlight: Featured story on CHARISM’s Sewing Classes for refugees in the FirstLink newsletter. |

2005 – Mel Stone Report: CHARISM’s Refugee Sewing Classes were documented in a special KVLY Mel Stone Report. |

2005 – Northwest Area Foundation Great Strides Award: For implementing poverty-reducing programs that are inclusive, have impact, use an asset-based approach, incorporate existing economic engines and nurture community leadership. |

2005 – FM Foundation ECHO Award: Awarded to Executive Director, Julie Gunkelman, for building bonds of human interaction in our community and inspiring other to do the same. The ECHO (Everyone Can Help Out) Award is bestowed on individuals in order to celebrate the “unsung heroes that have improved the quality of life of all those living in Cass and Clay counties. |

2005 – DOVS(Directors of Volunteer Services) Outstanding Volunteers Award: Presented to three of CHARISM’s most dedicated community members and volunteers. |

2005 – FM Area Woman: Impressed with the mission and scope of CHARISM’s work, FM Area Woman featured Executive Director Julie Gunkelman as their September 2005 cover story. |

2006 – YWCA Woman of the Year Award: Nominated by her peers, Executive Director Julie Gunkelman was selected as the 2006 Woman of the Year for her work at CHARISM in community service. |
